Welcome to Karen's Legacy!

18 Years and running strong.

In 2007 the Herman family lost their wife, mother, and Nana, Karen to brain cancer.  From diagnosis to death only six months elapsed.  Just three weeks prior to Karen’s passing, Karen's daughter, Jessica found SBTF and their Race For Research.  She formed team Karen’s Legacy and the team has remained in the top 3 fundraising positions ever since.  Before Karen’s passing, she told the family “no other families should ever have to go through what we went through” and she asked her family to continue to work with SBTF and to help bring an end to brain tumors and brain cancer.  

We have honored her legacy and wish and this year will mark the 18th consecutive year we have run the Race for Research.  Over that time, we have raised in excess of $250,000.00!

This year we need your help. Our goal this year for Karen's Legacy is to raise $10,000.  Sign up as a team member and help us raise funds for research.  Once you have signed up for the team, reach out to friends, family, co-workers, and encourage them to join us or make a donation.  This is for a great cause...over 90,000 people are diagnosed with a brain tumor every year.  Since 2005, SBTF has awarded more than $3.0 million to fund research projects.  The Race for Research is its primary fundraising activity.

If you can't join us on the team, perhaps you can make a small donation of $25 (or more).  Another way you can help is to let others know about our efforts to raise funds for brain tumor research.  Please consider any level of participation - every ounce of help is appreciated.  

You also can double your support through employer matching programs?. Be sure to check with your Human Resources Department to determine if the company will match your donation.  If they say yes, you can double your donation with a few clicks of the mouse.
