Welcome to the Brains for BK team page! This is the 10th year the team will be walking/running for SBTF Race for Research 5K. We run in memory and honor of my brother Brian, who lost the fight to a glioblastoma brain tumor in May 2017. There is no cure for this horrible disease that takes lives too soon. Your donation will help continue to fund research, and ultimately save lives. It's more appreciated than you could know!

You can participate by running (or walking) the course route along with me, by helping me spread the word about this fundraising event, or by making a donation toward my fundraising effort. If you're not a runner, don't worry, many of the registrants are not runners. Instead many of the registrants are brain tumor patients who are just happy to be alive and happy to be able to participate in this event.

Just so you know, the Southeastern Brain Tumor Foundation is recognized as as a 501 (c) (3) not-for-profit organization and as a public charity. Donations to the SBTF in support of my fundraising efforts are tax deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law. Your support will have a positive impact on the life of a brain tumor patient because it generate awareness about this disease and will help to fund much needed brain tumor research.

Sadly, many of us don't realize how scary a brain tumor diagnosis is until someone we know is told "you have a brain tumor" or "you have brain cancer".
