Proceeds benefit the San Diego Zoo's conservation efforts on behalf of endangered species. We are looking for energetic and enthusiastic individuals who can work in the following areas:

  • Casino
    Standing and mingling with guest in the Main Party Area (ZPA) 
  • Party Support
    High energy position with standing and light lifting. Help Food & Beverage Partners during party and help break down after Partners shut down.
  • Merchandise Seller
    Standing, walking, and lifting. High energy position mingling with guests and selling merchandise.
  • Pick-Your-Prize
    Standing and walking the party footprint. Mingling with guests and selling Pick-Your-Prize tickets.
  • Servers
    Standing and mingling with guests. Must be able to pour beer and/or wine. Flexible position that will help with any Food & Beverage Partners needs.
  • Hydration Station
    Standing and mingling with guests. Keeping our guests hydrated.

What to know about volunteering for this event:

  • Volunteers must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Volunteers must be available to attend Volunteer Orientation to be held on Thursday, September 24, 2015, at 6 p.m. at the San Diego Zoo Sandwich Company. Attendance is mandatory for all volunteers. Orientation will cover a walk-through of the event, meeting your area coordinator, and receiving a description of your responsibilities. If you are unable to attend the meeting, please plan on arriving 30 minutes before your scheduled shift to go over the event information.
  • The Zoo will provide an event t-shirt to be worn on the day of the event.
  • Please wear either black or khaki pants or a skirt.
  • Please wear comfortable shoes.
  • After you are released from your volunteer responsibilities, all volunteers must sign out for his/her shift and change into personal clothing in order to attend the Food,Wine, & Brew Celebration. Volunteers are not permitted to wear volunteer shirts after their assigned shifts.

Please note that volunteer assignments will require long periods of standing, walking, and some light lifting. If you have any physical restrictions, please let us know at the time you contact us.
