Welcome to my Fundraising Page!

Janet and I  (and hopefully some of my KPMG colleagues) are really excited about participating in The Great Canadian Splash for Kids to help raise much needed funds to make dreams come true for children across Canada living with severe physical disabilities.  We are blessed with 3 healthy active children so we love to have this opportunity to help other families and their children who were not as fortunate.  It made me want to have even more of an impact in the community so I accepted the nomination to the Board and in January 2020 was appointed Chair of the Board of The Sunshine Foundation of Canada and I know am serving as Past Chair.

It’s going to be a fantastic month even without an in person event due to the ongoing pandemic but The Sunshine Foundation has put in a lot of work to get this event off the ground again so we can still raise some funds to help the kids, who are under even more stress in the current environment.  Sunshine dreams have such a positive impact on their mental health, confidence and hope for the future.

I  have a personal goal of raising $3,000 in pledges for the event but am hoping to surpass that amount and raise even more funds to help children across Canada experience their dreams.   The COVID-19 pandemic has created a growing mental health crisis. In Canada, young people are experiencing the lowest rates of mental health. In this isolating time, we must recognize the challenge that vulnerable kids living with severe physical disabilities, and their families, are facing right now.
