Manatee Rescue and Release Area

Goal: $10,000.00 |
Save the Manatee Club is committed to raising $10,000 to assist with improving the rescue and release area at Blue Spring State Park. In addition, we are honored once again by the kindness of volunteer Denise Anderson who has offered to match the first $2000 raised for this campaign.
Currently, the manatee release area at Blue Spring State Park is the old canoe beach, which has eroded to the point that there is frequently no beach at all. Access to this beach is narrow and steep. A wide, shallow ramp, in a straight line, potentially with very shallow steps, would make this much easier and safer for humans and manatees. Along with many partners, Save the Manatee Club is supporting this important project to guarantee that Blue Spring State Park remains a prime location for manatee rescues, releases, and post-release monitoring. Donations received to this campaign are designated to our Emergency Rescue Fund and will be used to assist with this project. Any contributions beyond our goal will help ensure each and every manatee in need of rescue, recovery, and release can receive lifesaving aid.
