I am a constituent and I am calling to express my opposition to the nomination of Jeff Sessions for attorney general.
The Attorney General of the United States is charged with advising and
prosecuting legal issues, including the 14th Amendment. Given that he was
racist to be a federal judge in 1986, how has Sessions proved that he is
capable of protecting all Americans, not just white Americans?
Sessions called the Voting Rights Act
‘intrusive’. How can I trust that he will protect voting rights for all
people, a treasured hallmark of American democracy?
I trust that as my Senator, you will express these concerns in tomorrow's confirmation hearing.
