Tell the White House - Stop Separating Families

The Trump administration has issued a new policy of separating immigrant families who have recently crossed the U.S. border. The parents are detained and persecuted, and their children are placed in the care of the government, to live in shelters. Tearing children from their families is traumatic and harms their mental health.

These families came to the U.S. seeking a better life and do not deserve to be torn apart. As people of faith, we are called to see the value and dignity of all families, regardless of their immigration status — which is why we must denounce this policy of family separation.

Tell the White House - Stop Separating Families

Dear [Decision Maker],

As a person of faith, I can't sit by and watch as the United States pursues a policy of separating immigrant families. These families have chosen to come to the U.S. in the hopes of finding safety and opportunity. They do not deserve to be ripped apart from each other. Within the first 13 days of this program, 658 children were cruelly separated from their families.

This policy not only rejects America's values, it also ignores the biblical teaching of seeing the value and dignity of all families, regardless of their immigration status. These forced separations traumatize children and can greatly harm their mental health. This is why the policy of family separation must be reversed.

Sincerely,
