Refugee admissions are at an all-time low. Congress must hold the State Department accountable to resettling 30,000 refugees this year and admitting a minimum of 75,000 refugees next year.
The GRACE Act would set a minimum refugee admissions goal of 95,000 people each year, which was the yearly average admission quota between 1980 and 2017.
The NO BAN Act would repeal the Muslim bans, refugee bans, and asylum ban. It would also prevent the administration from setting bans that discriminate against a religion or nationality in the future.
Tell your representatives to hold the administration accountable to this year’s resettlement goals and support pro-refugee legislation.
If you take action and have not already registered, you will receive periodic updates and communications from Sojourners.
Support Pro-Refugee Legislation and Resettlement Goals
Dear [Decision Maker],
Refugee admissions are at an all-time low. I urge you to hold the administration accountable to resettling the proposed 30,000 refugees this year.Furthermore, the U.S. has demonstrated a capacity to safely resettle vulnerable people at a higher rate than this. The GRACE Act would set a minimum refugee admissions goal to 95,000 people each year, which was the yearly average admission quota between 1980 and 2017. I urge you to support the GRACE Act.I also ask that you ensure that no one is ever banned from this country solely based on their religion or nationality. Please support the NO BAN Act to repeal the Muslim bans, refugee bans, and asylum ban, and prevent the administration from ever setting bans like this again.
