U.S. government is currently holding over 2,000 children—many of whom have been
separated from their families by U.S. immigration officials—in a center in
Homestead, Fla. Most have fled violence and poverty in Central America and are
seeking asylum in the United States.
of being released to family members or other sponsors, many are spending weeks
or months in inhumane detention. And because Homestead is an emergency influx
center, children are not protected by agreements that ordinarily ensure that licensing
and other standards are met.

Stop Child Detention
Dear [Decision Maker],
As a person of faith who cares about the safety and well-being of every child, I urge you to: -Reunite children with their sponsors as quickly as possible and end collaborations with the Department of Homeland Security that interfere with reunifications. -Close the Homestead Temporary Shelter for Unaccompanied Alien Children and stop using emergency influx facilities. All children are made in the image of God and deserve to live in safety and peace. It's time to reunite children with their loved ones.
Sincerely,[Your Name] [Your Address] [City, State ZIP][Your Email]
