Native American students at St. Joseph's Indian School.

Why You Should Help

  • High school graduation rates for Native American students in South Dakota hover around 50%. However, for students who attend St. Joseph’s at some point in their academic career, graduation rates are approximately 80%.
  • Education is the key for Native American youth to break the cycle of unemployment and poverty.

But there is hope for the young people who are struggling ... St. Joseph’s Indian School. Since 1927 we have been serving the educational and spiritual needs of Lakota children. Through family-style group living and emphasis on cultural development, we provide for every need of our nearly 200 students ... all at no cost to them or their families.
