Children Learn What They Read:  Seeing the Presence of God Through Selected Stories is a resource designed to be used at home, at church, or anywhere ministry with children happens.  The award winning titles, twenty-seven of them in all, are suitable for children from preschool through elementary school.  Carolyn & Dawn Pettigrew offer related scripture readings and ways to use this scripture in sharing the story with the children.  There are activity suggestions, spiritual reflections, and more suggested for each of the twenty-seven notable books referenced in Children Learn What They Read.


ABOUT THE AUTHORS of Children Learn What They Read:  Seeing the Presence of God Through Selected Stories
Carolyn Landers Pettigrew is a published author who has taught extensively and is renowned for her expertise in the areas of prayer, families and children, multiculturalism, and small group ministry.  She holds a doctorate in Transformational Church Leadership from United Theological Seminary.

Dawn Karima Pettigrew debuted her first novel, The Way We Make Sense, in the fall of 2002.  One of her short stories appeared in the literary journal, Glimmer Train, and was chosen to be adapted into a stage production.  The Marriage of Saints, the name of the story and the play, completed a month-long run in February of 2003 at the California Stage in Sacramento, CA.  She holds a degree in Social Studies from Harvard University and a Master's of Fine Arts in Creative Writing from The Ohio State University.
