  Thriving Units:

United Methodist Women will be testing a new National Membership model where women connect uniquely to the work of Service and Advocacy, Spiritual Growth, Transformative Education and Leadership Development. New women could be introduced to the work through a Nationally held event, point of interest, Social Media and/or Digital Engagement and will have the option to connect to a local unit or a cohort.

Survey data has shown that there are clear generational differences as to why a woman would join a Women’s Faith-Based group with most falling in three categories: making an impact, leadership opportunities and/or spiritual nurture.

Please select what category your local unit would most identify:

A. Impact: Our unit actively advocates for change on one or more of our social justice campaigns, work with our local National Mission Institutions (NMI), partnered with others in advocating for change. We do advocacy to foster change and create opportunities of service to support this particular cause. Ex. Protest for change, social media meet ups, etc.

B. Influence: Our unit actively offers opportunities for nurture and development for current members, newly connected women and younger leaders; participate or host leadership development and mentorship opportunities, create space for networking across generations, succession planning

C. Inspire: Our units actively participate in spiritual growth and development within the UMC and beyond the local church, offer spiritual/soul care retreats, create and foster opportunities to connect spiritual women

D. Our unit focuses on local service projects like sock and bookbag drives, convening around our interest and needs of the immediate community, take part in fellowship activities in partnership with the UMC, not focused on advocacy
