Mighty Brave for Selective Mutism
We need your support
This spring, I will be taking part in Kennedy Krieger Institute's annual ROAR for Kids.
You can make your voice heard as we come together to ROAR for Kids at Kennedy Krieger.
I appreciate your support as I participate in this wonderful event.
Our team "Mighty Brave for Selective Mutism" will be running the 5k to honor our brave friends with
SM as well as to bring attention to the term Selective Mutism (SM). SM, in short, is a
neurobiological anxiety disorder that impacts the ability of a typically verbal individual to speak in
social settings (i.e., it impacts a child's ability to talk in school, to talk to others outside of immediate
family, to talk to peers, to talk outside the home).
About ROAR for Kids
ROAR for Kids is a 5k run, low mileage fun walk, and family festival dedicated to raising much-needed funds for research and programs to help kids at Kennedy Krieger Institute.
When you are finished running or walking be sure to take a break and checkout the wide variety of fun activities and entertainment at our family festival! And for those of you who can't drag yourself out of bed or want to participate from afar, you can register to Snore for ROAR.
