Welcome to My Personal Page
I am super excited to be part of the Comox Valley Cyclepaths for the fourth year running (third year as a rider)....and this year I finally get to ride the actual tour route!!
I have been involved with the Comox Valley Hospice Society since 2013 when my Husband became a board member. In 2016 I became a Director on the board, and I am still serving on the board, currently as the Secretary.
Hospice has a very special place in my heart as 2 of my very dear friends and my Sister in Law all benefitted from the amazing services Hospices provide and received the most amazing care and support for themselves and their young families.
In 2020 we lost two key members (and friends) of the Comox Valley Hospice community.
Terri Odeneal, the former Executive Director had given so much time, energy, love and support to the Comox Valley Hospice Society and the community it serves. Just weeks after her retirement, Terri sadly passed away, leaving behind her an incredible legacy of all the hard work and support she had given to Comox Valley Hospice Society.
Margaret Lam was such an energetic and vibrant lady, with an infectious personality and a strong passion to help others. She was a huge (even though she was tiny!) part of our 2019 team and as well as raising funds and awareness for Hospice, she inspired my, then 12 year old Daughter, Aby, to ride the following year and Margaret even generously gifted me her bike to enable me to ride with Aby. Less than a year after her 2019 ride on the Cycle of Life Tour, Margaret lost her fight against a very aggressive cancer.
The care and services provided by Hospices is second to none. Vancouver Island hospices provide end-of-life palliative care, counseling, bereavement support, and at-home care to over 12,000 patients and family members each year. Despite the value of their services, none are fully funded by the health care system. The care and comfort they provide is only possible because of generous community support.
Comox Valley Hospice Society provides end of life care and bereavement support for the people of the Comox Valley. It is the goal of the CVHS that those in our community who are living with a life limiting illness, are supported and have their wishes respected; that their care givers receive the help they need, and that they, and their families are supported in their grief
I’m committed to raise at least $5,000 for the Comox Valley Hospice Society hospice, but I need your support.
Every donation, no matter what the size, will make a big difference and you will receive a tax-receipt. Simply click on the donate now to make your donation today!
