Thanks for visiting my fundraising page. On July 16th & 17th I will be cycling nearly 200km to raise funds for hospice care on Vancouver Island.  Having supported Comox Valley Hospice Society over the years I have now jumped in the saddle, quite literally, and become part of Team Cyclepaths. I’m excited to be on the team!

Although I’m far more comfortable on the giving side of charitable donations, I’m going to nudge myself out of my comfort zone and ask of your support in a cause that I have great belief in. While many on our team are experienced fundraisers, I’m still new at this and hope that you’ll help me to get over the fear of asking for a donation.

Hospice is as simple as offering support as we near our end of life. I think this looks different for every individual. In 1989, when I was still a kid and untrained in the discipline of Hospice care, I had many opportunities to offer support and whether I’m singing, listening to their stories, holding their hand or just spending time with them in their room, I was grateful for the connections that we made during my year with Up With People.  Those who deliver Hospice full time are my superheroes.
