Yesterday, Secretary of the Interior Sally Jewell solidified her reputation as a wildlife champion. She announced the next steps of our government's comprehensive plan to combat the wildlife trade. Included is an October plan to crush six tons of the U.S. stockpile of seized illegal ivory – a move that sets a great precedent for African and Asian countries and ensures the ivory doesn't end up back on the black market.
Send a quick note of thanks to this great ally in the fight to save elephants, rhinos, and other species driven to the brink of extinction by the illegal wildlife trade.
If you take action and have not already registered, you will receive periodic updates and communications from Wildlife Conservation Society.
