Welcome to My Personal Page
Dear Family and Friends,
I'm doing it again! I'm participating in Moving Day NC Triangle on November 4th because I believe in the work the Parkinson's Foundation is doing on behalf of all of us living with Parkinson's and those that live beside us. The foundation is one of the first places many people turn to for support after receiving a diagnosis. They are actively committed to offering grants to support continued research to further better treatment options.
This year I'm co-chairing the event. It's been 3 years since I began this journey. I have increased the medication I take from 3 times a day to 4 times a day. Most of you see me when my medication is working. When it wears off my tremor returns and my muscles get really tight.
Every 6 minutes someone is diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease in the United States. They used to think that there were 60,000 new cases a year, but that number is now 90,000. There are close to 40,000 people living with Parkinson's in the Carolinas alone.
My dog Norm and I plan to keep moving! Please join me in supporting the Parkinson's Foundation mission to improve care and advance research toward a cure.
