Moving Day San Antonio

Carol and I

Join the fight to beat Parkinson’s Disease!

We beat our goal of $2000.00 by $111.00. I could not have done this without all of your support and generosity.

$According to the Parkinson's foundation it is estimated that at least one million people in the United States suffer from Parkinson’s Disease (PD), and roughly six million worldwide. PD is second only to Alzheimer’s disease as the most prevalent neurodegenerative disease.

PD isn’t only for older people. Youth Onset PD (YOPD) affects about four percent of the one million people with PD in the U.S. Symptoms are similar to late onset PD but it is important to understand the challenges YOPD individuals often face at a financial, family and employment level. In rare instances, Parkinson's-like symptoms can appear in children and teenagers.

Last year, this is how Moving Day San Antonio made a difference by raising over $68,000 to support:
88,384 people served (people with Parkinson’s and their care partners)
31,469 publications distributed.
3,706 health professionals trained.
256 people participated in our PD GENEreation genetics testing.

Approximations: 60% research, program development, and supportive services. 30% goes towards community resources (such as partnering with support groups) and 10% for national office support to execute events such as Moving Day
