We have united to raise awareness and funds on behalf of Mike Bell for the Parkinson’s Foundation Moving Day Mississippi, A Walk for Parkinson’s on October 12, 2024. Mike became part of this statistic when he was diagnosed with Parkinson’s in 2020, after experiencing symptoms for over 15 years. His symptoms included loss of smell, shouting and excessive movement during sleep, digestive issues, extreme fatigue, stiffness, and a persistent right-hand tremor. Fortunately, his long-standing exercise habits have helped mitigate the progression of the disease over the years.

The diagnosis and progressive nature of Parkinson’s, along with the necessary treatment regimen of medications, vigorous exercise, diet, sleep, and stress reduction, led Mike to retire from his rewarding executive career in 2022.

As a follower of Jesus Christ, Mike’s faith has been a tremendous support in facing life’s challenges, including Parkinson’s. His prayer is for God to use his battle with Parkinson’s to positively impact others. He is doing everything he can to slow the progression of his disease, hoping for new effective treatments or a cure to help him and the 90,000+ Americans diagnosed with Parkinson’s each year.

Mike currently serves on the Gulf States Chapter of the Parkinson’s Foundation Advisory Board.
