Welcome to Elisabeth's Page
We are moving to end Parkinson's disease!
As a family, we have joined Moving Day, A Walk for Parkinson's, to honor people living with Parkinson's disease including and especially my dad, Dr. John Flaherty. In 2022 Dad received the devastating diagnosis following his recovery from prostate cancer. In spite of this life-altering diagnosis, my parents, who have always been dedicated to exercise, renewed their vow to keep moving, together and forward in an effort to manage the symptoms of Parkinson’s and slow the progression of the disease. Dad remains steadfast in his commitment to serving his patients as an Infectious Disease specialist, he is a full-time Grandpa & sometimes babysitter (Grandma’s second-in- command), and he moonlights as a rock/ jazz guitarist.
Who has time for Parkinson’s?
J. Flay is an inspiration and a force of positivity in our lives, often tackling workouts specifically tailored to patients with neurologic conditions at Movement Revolution - even after a long week of being on-service at the hospital. He and we are dedicated to fighting this disease and funding research for a cure. We will walk on October 5th for my Dad and Parkinson’s patients everywhere who work each day to battle an often quiet war against this disease.
Every dollar raised goes a long way in helping the Parkinson's Foundation fulfill its mission of improving the lives of the one million Americans with Parkinson's disease. If you feel called to do so, please make a donation. Your generosity will help raise awareness, more funding and more understanding of a disease that affects so many of our family and friends.
With love, gratitude and a fighting spirit,
Elisabeth
