It's time to get moving again! Twist and Shout with Bob is back again...and it's time to get ready for Moving Day Chicago! For the last two years our team captain has been my daughter-in-law Norine Bansfield. I'm taking the role on for 2024 as Norine is pregnant (with twins) and as fate would have it, her due date for delivery is the same day as Moving Day.  How's that for planning!

You may know that I'm a huge advocate of research studies related to PD.  I participate in as many studies as possible.  Some of these have been sponsored by the Parkinson's Foundation and some have been sponsored by pharmaceutical or other companies.  In February 2022 I completed a 14-month study for a new extended release drug to treat PD.  The drug had significant reduction in my PD symptoms.  Unfortunately I was not able to continue use of the drug once the study was completed.  The FDA has just approved the drug and I look forward to being the first patient at Northwestern Medicine to receive the approved drug in late September! In October 2023 I began a 24-month non-invasive research study to track my PD progression.  The study includes analysis of my daily activity and sleep patterns.  Several months into the study I learned this study is linked to a multi-year study on the use of stem cells to fight PD.  I am hopeful to be accepted in the next phase of this study with a possible start date in late 2024.
