Parkinson's Moving Day Community Walk - Walk Over Water

Join us for the 13th Annual Parkinson’s “Walk Over Water” on the Walkway Over the Hudson on Sunday, September 8, 2024 from 1-4, featuring: Booths -Demonstrations – Information – Kids’ Games – Music!

Consider Jim. Jim kept falling. He fell at home. He fell out walking, shopping, going to the movies and, most recently, in a parking lot. He was determined not to let his Parkinson’s rob him of his life, but it was hard and getting harder. He was getting discouraged. Then, one day, he turned up at a meeting with a big smile on his face, standing upright, using a brand new pair of urban walking poles. “I haven’t fallen once while using these,” he declared. “They have given me my life back!”

There are many ways to improve the life of someone like Jim with Parkinson’s. We invite you to join us in this challenge.

This is our 39th year of continuous operation, making us the oldest Parkinson’s Support Group in the United States. Every year, we walk in memory of those we have lost; we walk in honor of those living bravely with Parkinson’s; and we walk in hope for a cure. You are invited to step up and join us in the PD challenge to help raise awareness and funds for the Parkinson’s Foundation. Your support will help the Foundation advance research, provide educational resources, and fund programs that make life better for people living with Parkinson’s and for their families. Registration

We ask that everyone who plans to attend Community Walk please register by clicking the Register button at the top of this page. There is no registration fee to participate, but a donation is very much appreciated.

How To Participate

Throw on comfortable clothes, lace up your exercise shoes and join us on the historic, paved Walkway Over the Hudson on Sunday, September 8, 2024. The event will take place rain or shine. Check the weather forecast to prepare accordingly. The Walkway only closes for lightening.
