Support Upstream Lab

We recognize that where people work, live, and play as well as other social factors including income, race and disability impact our health. At the Upstream Lab, our goal is to examine health inequities through a social justice lens and develop innovative solutions to optimize population health. We are committed to leveraging research evidence for concrete actions to affect social change and respond to public health challenges.

Founded in 2016, the Upstream Lab is the only research group in Canada dedicated to upstream prevention. Led by Dr. Andrew Pinto, CIHR Applied Public Health Chair, the Upstream Lab has emerged as a leader in integrating health and social care, population health management, using data science to enable Learning Health Systems, and clinical trials.

Your generous contribution will support the training of students, future generations of researchers, and community members to become agents of change. Together, we can address social determinants of health at multiple levels: individual or family, neighbourhood or organization, and population or policy.
